iPhone/iPod touch only: A new iPhone and iPod touch application called GV Mobile promises to integrate all the awesome functionality of Google Voice directly into your iPhone.

As you can see from the video, GV Mobile really does bring most of Google Voice's best functionality into the iPhone. The app's creator is being smart about it, too, making sure that all the functionality that you'd miss from the iPhone's default phone app is included in his application by default. That means that features like visual voicemail, a contact (and manual) dialer, and SMS support are all included.

In short: We'll be ready to move to our Google Voice number as soon as GV Mobile is officially available. If you've got an iPod touch, GV Mobile obvious doesn't (yet) work as a phone, but you can still presumably use it to access your voicemail, send SMS messages, and start a new call that would ring another phone.

Android users already have their own Google Voice application, but it's great to see the same (or at least similar) functionality working its way to the iPhone. If you haven't seen what all the Google Voice hubbub is about, check out our first look at Google Voice. UPDATE: GV Mobile was developed by iPhone developer Sean Kovacs, and it looks like it may come with a price tag when it hits the App Store. Still, we'd be surprised if Google doesn't release a similar app of their own sometime down the line.
