iPhone apps of the week

I've now crossed into my 8th page of apps on the iPhone. Frankly, the time is quickly approaching that I'm going to have to start deleting good apps from my iPhone to download more. To add to the problem the apps keep on coming at the iTunes Store as more developers figure out ways to utilize this unique platform--and they keep getting better! I haven't deleted an app that I've paid for yet, but I believe that the time might be coming that past money spent will not be enough of a reason to keep an app in my library. I recognize that it's part of my job to look at apps so it makes sense my iPhone is filling up, but I can't be the only one with this problem. If you are experiencing app overload like I am, I'd love to hear about it in the comments.

This weeks apps include a paid arcade-like shooter just released at the iTunes Store and a free streaming radio app.

iDracula - Undead Awakening (99 cents - initially) is a recent release at the iTunes Store that is quickly rising up the most popular list. Using on-screen directional controls, iDracula - Undead Awakening challenges you to fight your way through endless hordes of undead creatures. As you mow down more monsters, you'll find items like new guns and ammo and potions to add to your ever decreasing health bar. You start with just a simple gun and slow-moving monsters that are easy to pick off. But as the game goes on, the swarm becomes quicker and more fierce, requiring more powerful guns and an endless supply of ammo.

Two game types in iDracula - Undead Awakening let you get to the type of shooter action you prefer. Survival mode starts slow and lets you slowly grab new weapons as the horde gets bigger and faster. Rush mode lets you experience the endgame, giving you an endless supply of ammo and a machine gun to see how long you can last against the advancing monsters. If you like arcade-like shooters like the classic arcade games Robotron and Smash TV, this is the game for you. The 99 cent price tag is only an introductory price, so grab this one quickly before it goes up to its regular price of $2.99.
